Project BOTS! June edition

I'm sorry!  I know, I know! I said I'd read a ton of new books, because its summer.  I SWORE!  I did read a lot, but they were books I'd already read many-a-time. Like the first, third, and fifth Harry Potter books, and I also reread The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear.  It was just as good the second time, maybe even better.

However.  I did finish Soulless like I promised, and while the language used was good and there were some nifty bits to it, I didn't really enjoy it that much.  I read it because I said I would, but I wouldn't ever read it again.

I also found a book called The Keeper of Lost Causes.  It's a Danish book that was translated into English, and it was exactly what you'd expect of a Scandinavian crime story, if you know anything about them.  Violent, fast paced, depressing at times, about as Danish as one could expect.  There was also a movie accompanying it, but it is only in Danish without a translation, and I couldn't find it for anything.

Anywho, I liked it enough to buy the only sequel I could find in the store, The Marco Effect.  Turns out that its a series, but I didn't know that.  Strangely enough, I wasn't too lost (which is why the books aren't numbered.) but I didn't like it enough.  It focused less on the mystery and more on this whiny kid and how well he could steal stuff.  It wasn't too good, but eh.  I got through it, even though it didn't keep my attention well at all.

I had already ordered the second book, The Absent One, and I started reading it, but I think I've had enough Scandinavian crime thrillers for a while.  It's on my shelf for later, just not right now.

Aaaaanyway, NaNo is happening!  Since my sucky old computer deleted Citrine, I decided to redo it, and I'm actually enjoying it.  The bad news is that I'll be gone and without internet for a solid week this month, so no writing for me!  I'll be at space camp, chilling with the astro-nerds.  There are far worse things.  Astro-nerds are cute and geeky. XD

Hmm, what else can I say for myself?  I'm FINALLY making that fedora, and I'll be posting pictures and stuff about how to make it as soon as my special hat-felt arrives in the mail.  I have my hat mold, but I need to do some tests to make sure that the felt won't be ruined by the materials I used to make said mold.

I love fedoras.  I have told you that, right?

Also, I want to start learning Arabic.  Maybe Mandarin.  Perhaps Hindi, or Swahili, or something else.  I LOVE Danish, don't get me wrong, but there aren't many instances where I'll be using it.  So a fourth language wouldn't be too hard, right?  I'm already fluent in Spanidanglish. :]  I think Araspanidanglisharindi is coming up next.
