Project BOTS March Edition!

Oh LORDY.  These books were not as bad as the January BOTS, as in I might actually read them some day, but they weren't very good, either.  My method is reading one book until the 15th, where I switch to the other book.  I did better on the first one, but I barely touched the second.  And it was long, so that isn't good.

BOTS March

"White Tiger" by Kylie Chan was the first one, and it was good-ish, though it started pretty slowly.  I always enjoy a good mythology, and I know very little about Chinese mythology.  It had (supposedly) martial arts in it, too, and Tae-Kwon-Do was pretty much 2/3s of my life, so that was a draw.

Would I reccommend it?  Yeah.  Not immediately, but the book wasn't bad, I just didn't read it quickly enough.  March 15th just came too quickly.  Not to mention three major midterms.  And failing math.  That didn't help ;)  But Spring Break is coming up next week, so I'll have time to read April's BOTS and maybe I'll finish this one.

"Shadowmarch" by Tad Williams didn't get enough of a chance, so I will not write this one off.  I also no zippy zap about it, so I can't write a good review.  Sorry!  All I know is that it is thicker than my February BOTS, with a whopping 800 pages.  While it has less pages than The Wise Man's fear, it's thicker, for some reason.  It also has an entire essay about this book's world, and I don't know if that is counted in the page count or not.

I do like the fact that the main male character is crippled.  That was interesting.

As I mentioned before, I will *hopefully* have time for these books next week.  I have also JUST placed an order for the first of my April BOTS, "The Child Thief."  The book I'm working on, ok, the MUSICAL I'm working on is a cross between Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan, so I wanted another take on Neverland and I've heard this book is properly twisted. :]

Okayokay I did research.  It's against the rules.  I was gonna read The Child Thief anyways, so I figured why not count it as a BOTS?  I didn't count Peter Pan for my March BOTS, even though I read it last month for a refresher in order to get my musical gears turning.  It's fair, right?  Anyways, I'll post more on my musical, "Dreamworld," over the next month.  After all, April NANO IS COMING UP WOOOOOHOOOOO!

This is going to be CRAPPY!
